Fearlessness and breaking free of a set style

Fearlessness and breaking free of a set style

In the world of abstract art, fearlessness is not just a quality; it's a way of life. As an abstract painter, I've learned that embracing the unknown, pushing boundaries, and being unafraid to put my creations out into the world are essential elements of the artistic process. It's about diving headfirst into the depths of my imagination and letting go of any inhibitions and expectations that may hold me back.

There's a certain thrill that comes with the territory of abstract expressionism. It's the freedom to allow my emotions and instincts to guide each brushstroke. But let me tell you, it's not always easy. There are days when doubt creeps in, when the blank canvas seems daunting. It's in those moments that I remind myself of the importance of fearlessness.

Fearlessness, to me, isn't about the absence of fear; it's about acknowledging fear's presence and choosing to move forward anyway.

Another one of the lessons I've learned as an abstract painter is the importance of practice and perseverance. There are days when inspiration flows effortlessly, and the paint seems to have a mind of its own. But there are also days when every stroke feels like a battle against self-doubt. On those days, I've learned to trust the process and keep painting, even when every fibre of my being wants to give up. It's during those times of struggle and determination that sometimes the magic happens.

For me as an artist, I've come to realize the importance of not being confined to one particular style or technique. I know this is contrary to what others say. But I think it's all too easy to fall into the trap of painting what we think people expect from us, or sticking to a formula that has brought us success in the past. Creativity thrives on exploration and innovation. I'm not a factory that can pump out the same style of art over and over. There's value in pushing the boundaries of my own creativity. Whether it's experimenting with different colour palettes, using alternative mediums, or experimenting with an entirely new artistic styles, each adventure into the unknown has enriched ms creatively.

It's important to remember that growth often lies beyond the confines of our comfort zones. By embracing a spirit of fearless experimentation, we open ourselves up to endless possibilities, allowing our creativity to flourish in ways we never thought possible.

Lastly, as an artist, it's pretty incredible to have dedicated followers and collectors. But here's the thing: they can't keep buying the same work from you forever. So instead of always working at chasing after new buyers, I think it's smart to mix things up a bit for my existing base. Why not treat them to something new? By throwing different styles, subjects, and techniques into the mix, I'm not just giving them more options to choose from—I'm also keeping things interesting for myself and showing off what I can really do. Plus, it's a great way to build stronger connections with my supporters, showing them that I'm not a one-trick pony but a versatile artist who's always up for trying something fresh. This keeps your relationship going.

Don't be afraid to try different styles, to push the boundaries of your own creativity, and to let your imagination run wild. I know its scary, but after all, it's in the daring act of stepping into the unknown that true artistic magic happens.
